Lemon Chiffon Pie

This is my Grans recipe from Lemon Chiffon pie. A family favorite.

Lemon Chiffon Pie :

  • 9 inch pastry shell /baked

  • Whipped cream

  • 1 tsp grated lemon grind

  • 1/2 tsp Salt

  • 1/2 C fresh Lemon juice

  • 1 C Sugar

  • 4 Eggs /separated

  • 1/4 C Water

  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin

Soften gelatin in cold water. Slightly beat egg yolk,1/2 C sugar,lemon juice and salt. Place in double boiler and let thicken (stir) Add soften gelatin and stir. Let Cool. In another bowl mix egg whites and 1/2 C sugar beat until fluffy and add to custard. Place this into prepared shell and Let Chill and firm up. , Add cool whip and serve.
